Finish...Strong??

Slow week. My comp finished his mission. Probably not the way he wanted though...

Tuesday was like trying to swim through molasses. First of all, I had to do divisions with this Elder in our zone that is just odd. You know? I’m talking the kind of guy who’s nice and stuff, but you think you’d rather blink 100 times as fast as you can with broken glass in your eyes than be with the guy for more than 3 hours. Next, a Sister gave us some bad food. So, I was in the bathroom all morning, and all afternoon off and on. And to top it all off, we had a big ol' goose egg of success. Pretty garbage day.

Wednesday and Thursday blew chunks. Remember that bad food we ate? Well it took my comp into the turf again so we were down for those two days.

Friday we had a service that was pretty cool. We were painting a school wall. But we painted it with Cal. What is Cal you may ask? Well, I’m not exactly sure. But I do know it’s kind of a cement and lime powder mix kind of deal. Or at least that’s how they explained it to me. All I really know is that it stings like a mother when it gets in your eyes!!! Man alive!!! I now know that I never want to get pepper sprayed!!!

Afterwards, my comp was feeling bad again. So we went home for the rest of the week.
Short week. Not a lot. As Always!!!

I Love a Good Dry Heave!

Well, I spent the night listening to my comp vomit. That was lovely. Oh! And we had a zone meeting today. And seeing as my comp stayed home with another Elder who is sick, I flew solo overseeing the meeting and giving "our" training schpeel we had to give. Now, I’m not going to sugar coat this... But I nailed it! I’m talking standing ovation and everything! I wish you all could have seen it!

Tuesday was alright. My comp had special permission to go say goodbye to a couple of the families in his other area. So, we headed over to Iztapalapa in México city and met up with a couple of the people he knew. I also found a Rocky shirt while we were there so I obviously had to buy it.

Wednesday we worked. Finally! A full working day!!! Haven’t seen one of those in a while. It was like reuniting with an old pal! Let me tell you about a couple people. First we talked to Julia Martinez. She has heard all the lessons... Twice. She feels different about this church in a good way. She has EVERYTHING she needs, but won’t pull the trigger. So if you could help by praying for an answer for her, that would be awesome. If she doesn’t get it, we will be dropping her this week. Second is Mario and his wife Clementina. They want to get baptized! They’re all ready to go! But Mario doesn’t want to get married... So that’s peachy. Please send a prayer his way as well that he may soften his heart.

Thursday. First of all, this is the day we do weekly planning and we leave our house a little later because of it. Then we had to go finish the last of the contracts we had in our zone. Once finished, we went to the meeting we have with our mission leader. Upon finishing said meeting, we entered the ward council and had to straighten things out. I tell you what! It was like a Sunbeam class in there. Pray for me. Pray that I don’t egg a couple people’s houses.

Friday was the lovely annual leadership meeting that we have every month. So that took up the day. Good times. However, me and my comp gave a training schpeel and won the hearts of millions doing so.

Saturday we looked for some service to do in the morning and found a recent convert to help. We cleaned up her sidewalk and then made a sweet ramp off the sidewalk for her son who uses a wheelchair. I also broke her broom in the process. But no worries, we got her a new one!

That’s all folks. For this week at least. Thank you for your prayers. They help more than you know. We will see you on the flippidy flop. As Always!!!

Once a Zone Leader Always a Zone Leader!

Alright everybody, here’s your fair 6-month warning. That’s right, you got six more months of peace and quiet then it’s all over but the shouting, you feel me? You've been warned.

Tuesday was good. We had a couple lessons and made a visit to some Elders that had problems with each other. Now me and my comp have been Zone Leaders for a while now, and we are just sick of everyone being a bunch of pansies.  So, we pretty much walked in and said, "Alright. You, why do you hate him? Now you! Why do you hate him? That's fine. Now kiss and make up." We're just kind of done. But president has made it very clear that once made a zone leader, you only get dropped if you break the law of chastity... That being said, we'll see what goes down...

Wednesday we had to go to several houses to renew their contracts because they had all expired. So we sent the day riding around in moto taxis, (look up some moto taxi pictures, they’re sweet!!!) talking to some lovely house owners, and giving the ol' John Hancock to everyone. Good times.

Friday was alright.  We were walking down the street and we met a guy from California! Like straight up white guy here in Valle de Chalco. Now I know what you're thinking. "Why is there a white guy in Valle de Chalco? There's got to be something wrong with him." Well, you're right. When we found him, he was sitting on the street yelling things in Spanish... Now obviously, we had to talk to him. He told us his life story which was pretty crazy then explained to us how the US was a "rat race". This guy is pretty nuts, but we will probably see him around some more.

Saturday and Sunday were buzz kills. Nobody had time or wanted to hear anything on Saturday because of New Year’s Eve, and Sunday everyone was passed out. So not too much there.

That’s all I got this week. Thank you for your prayers!  As Always!!!
